Languages at UEES

The study of a foreign language is an experience that opens the doors to the culture behind it. The process of learning another language develops mental and social skills that are transferable to other aspects of life.

English is the most widely spoken language and has been used in almost all areas of knowledge and human development. It has become the language of communication around the world. It is a requirement not only in academia, but also a professional competence.

More than 200 million people speak French on five continents. The French-speaking world covers 68 states. It is the language of diplomacy, cuisine and fashion. France is a major trading power and one of the most visited countries in the world. French is the second working language in the UN, the EU, UNESCO, NATO, among others.

Italian is the official language in four countries: Italy, San Marino, Vatican City and Malta. It also has a significant number of speakers in other nations such as: Slovenia, Albania, Somalia, Libya and Eritrea. Today, there are more than 63 million Italian speakers worldwide.

Spanish is a language of culture, tourism, history and communication, spoken by 500 million people, almost 400 million as their mother tongue and 100 million as a second language. 21 countries around the world have Spanish as an official language. This makes it the second most spoken language, after Mandarin.

Japanese is the language of one of the world's great economic and technological powers, home to some of the world's largest companies such as Sony, Toshiba, Sanyo, Casio, Canon, Honda, Toyota, or Mitsubishi to name a few. One of the most outstanding agreements of UEES is the one we have with Kansai Gaidai University, which welcomes our students year after year.

Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language on the planet, and the third most spoken language in the Western world, surpassed only by English and Spanish. In addition to being the official language of Brazil and Portugal, Portuguese is also used in African and Asian countries. Currently, around 250 million people in the world speak Portuguese.

German, a language spoken in different European countries, is currently a language that opens up great job opportunities, provides access to information and the great culture and history of the country. The possibilities for studies in this country have made it a language of great interest.
