Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Understanding the AI ecosystem 
  • Apply international frameworks to corporate practice and judicial work, with a focus on risk, compliance and due process.
  • Identify operational, legal and ethical risks and prioritize them with practical criteria. 
  • Interpret and apply LOPDP to AI cases, especially in automated decisions. 
  • Incorporate ethical and leadership criteria for responsible and sustainable adoption.

Teachers

Oscar Obando Chaves.

Lawyer, specialist in Artificial Intelligence, pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence Governance in Ecuador. Currently, he leads the first legal practice in the country dedicated exclusively to Responsible AI at HEKA Law.

In parallel, he actively participates in the global academic and public policy debate as a researcher at the AI Policy Clinic of the Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP) in Washington D.C., and collaborates with the European Network for AI Safety (ENAIS). This dual facet, linking corporate application with cutting-edge research, is complemented by his continuing education.
