Introduction

To provide teachers with evidence-based practical tools to identify, understand and care for students with neurodevelopmental disorders, promoting inclusive education. Through effective strategies, behavioral regulation will be strengthened and learning in the classroom will be optimized, ensuring that each child receives the necessary support from the early school years.

General information

Target

  • Learn to observe and detect early signs of possible neurodevelopmental disorders in the classroom, in order to intervene early and provide better support to students.
  • To understand how the school environment influences behavior and learning, identifying which factors can enhance or hinder children's development.
  •  Apply more flexible and effective teaching strategies, adapting methods and materials so that all students can participate and learn according to their abilities.
  •  Master the use of augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC), facilitating the interaction and learning of children with difficulties in verbal communication. Manage challenging behaviors and promote emotional self-regulation, applying evidence-based strategies that improve coexistence and well-being in the classroom.
  • To foster social skills in students with neurodevelopmental disorders, helping them to interact with their peers and perform better in school.
  • Improve communication and teamwork with families and other professionals, creating support networks for a comprehensive accompaniment of students.
  • Design personalized intervention plans, using functional assessments to address the academic and emotional needs of each student.
  • Incorporate technological tools and innovative methodologies that facilitate teaching, evaluation and inclusion in the classroom.

Module 4: Strategies for language and communication support in the classroom.

Module 6:  Growth mindset for teaching practice and the inclusive classroom.

Module 7: Introduction to SAD and identification of learning barriers.

Module 8: Interpretation and analysis of external reports .

Module 9:  Protocols, legal framework and educational debate.

Module 10: Emerging technologies and digital resources for inclusion and multisensory learning.

 

Teacher

MSc. Jennifer Franco

Psychologist in Educational Rehabilitation. She has a Master's Degree in Neuropsychology and Education from the University of Villanueva attached to the Complutense University of Madrid, complemented with a Specialty in Neuropsychological Evaluations and a Diploma in Neurocognitive Disorders at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to addressing learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, high abilities, dual and multiple exceptionality. Her work includes guidance to families, collaborative work with School Integration Programs (PIE) in Chile and Ecuador, as well as the implementation of innovative strategies in neuroeducation and creative and critical thinking skills at infant and elementary school levels. Currently, she represents Veo Positive Chile in Ecuador and works in private practice. Her work focuses on the diversification of education and the construction of a more inclusive educational system through teacher training and neuroeducation for children and youth.

MSc. Alba Zambrano

Psychologist specialized in Educational Rehabilitation, with a Master's Degree in Child Neuropsychology from Casa Grande University. With more than 15 years of experience, she has established herself as an expert in neurodevelopment, autism and school inclusion. Throughout her career, she has worked hand in hand with families and educational institutions, providing effective strategies for social communication and behavior modification, always from a collaborative, respectful and compassionate approach. Her
commitment to inclusive education has led her to train education and health professionals, promoting interdisciplinary work with prestigious neuropediatricians, speech therapists, psychologists and therapists. Alba is a strong advocate of neurodiversity and equity in learning, promoting evidence-based practices to enhance the development and well-being of infants and toddlers.

MSc. Anarosy Torres

Master's Degree in Neuropsychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology of Learning from Casa Grande University and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Loyola University Chicago. She has a postgraduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the Florida Institute of Technology and is certified as an International Behavior Analyst (IBA) by the International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO) and as a Behavior Analyst at the undergraduate level (BCaBA) in the United States, by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). With over a decade of experience working with families, educational institutions and professionals internationally, she has developed an innovative approach that empowers adults as key agents of change. Her methodology, based on brain-aligned discipline strategies and a brain-centered model, is based on a holistic approach that empowers adults as key agents of change.
Adult-first approach, provides practical tools to turn behavioral challenges into opportunities for learning and growth. Currently, it offers personalized accompaniment to families, as well as advice to educational institutions and professionals, guiding them in the creation of positive, safe and respectful environments.

MSc. Consuelo Mendoza

María Consuelo Mendoza is a clinical psychologist graduated from Espíritu Santo University. She has a Master's Degree in Psychopedagogy from the University of Barcelona and is specialized in psycho-pedagogical intervention in early childhood and primary education. She also has a Master's Degree in Neuroeducation from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR).
Currently, she offers private consultation and counseling services at MAPA Educación, focusing on social-emotional intervention for children and pre-adolescents, as well as accompaniment for their families. She is also certified in Positive Discipline and is dedicated to socioemotional education for children and adolescents, providing appointments in both online and face-to-face modalities. Her approach is based on respect for child development, combining a scientific approach with a warm and personalized intervention. She strongly believes in collaborative work with families, considering them as allies.

Msc. Jorge Villao

Speech therapist with postgraduate training in Speech-Language Pathology, oriented to the clinical intervention of children, adolescents and adults with communication difficulties. Her work focuses on the evaluation and intervention of speech and language disorders, addressing articulatory, phonological, semantic and pragmatic aspects, with a functional approach and aimed at improving effective communication. He is part of the Charito de Villao Center team as Director of Language and Communication, an institution recognized for its more than 30 years of experience in language rehabilitation and child development support. Within this space, Jorge actively participates in therapeutic intervention processes, accompaniment of families and design of strategies adapted to the individual profile of each patient. His practice integrates up-to-date tools in speech therapy, multisensory activities and evidence-based methodologies to strengthen communication skills, support emergent literacy and improve participation in school, family and social environments.

MSc. Roberto Navarroz

Clinical Psychologist with a Master's Degree in Psychology with mention in Neuropsychology of Learning, in Emergency and Disaster Care, and in Organizational Psychology. His training is complemented with a Diploma in Neurodevelopmental Disorders Applied to Education and Behavioral Management at Espiritu Santo University, and he is also studying Law, which strengthens his understanding of the legal framework related to inclusion and disability. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to neurodevelopment, neurocognitive assessment, early intervention, educational inclusion and care for people with disabilities, integrating evidence-based approaches with technologies applied to learning. Her professional approach is characterized by integrating educational technologies, artificial intelligence, gamification and multisensory models to optimize care, accessibility and cognitive rehabilitation. Its purpose is to contribute to the construction of more inclusive, digital and participatory learning environments, enhancing autonomy, well-being and integral development in children, adolescents and people with disabilities.
