The students of the International Course on Constitutionalism in the United States and the World, taught by the Graduate School of Law of the University of Espiritu Santo, lived a unique academic experience at the prestigious University of Texas at Austin, one of the most important institutions in the United States.
The visit was made possible by our host and guest professor, Professor Richard Albert, who is also on the faculty of the Graduate School of Law at the University of Espiritu Santo.
“Our students had the opportunity to share with the most important constitutionalists in the field, learn more about the U.S. system, the handling of precedents in the high courts, both federal and state, and the main lines of jurisprudence that are handled in the United States on the most important issues of current importance,” said Professor Albert.
During their stay, the students visited the Texas Supreme Court, where they were received by its chief justice in a meaningful event that allowed them to share experiences about the administration of justice in the state of Texas. In addition, the students had the opportunity to tour the Presidential Library of former President Lyndon B. Johnson, located in Austin, Texas.
This academic experience was invaluable, not only for the learning acquired, but also for the possibility of experiencing first-hand the workings of the U.S. legal system. Undoubtedly, a life experience that only the University of Espiritu Santo can offer.
