Target

To train highly qualified specialists in Diagnostic Imaging, competitive at national and international level in the different areas of this specialty with a constant learning training, based on the analysis of information of evidence-based medicine. Adaptation of this information to the existing resources in the environment. Presentation to the Scientific Community of the achievements reached in their training through the publication of correctly designed and elaborated works, whose conclusions are useful for the scientific development of our community, and of the international community.

Aimed at

Professionals in general medicine with a third level degree, with basic knowledge of clinical-surgical diagnosis. Ability to work in a team, ethical conduct and adequate response to stress.

Title to be Granted

Once the academic, assistance and administrative requirements have been approved, and the degree work has been defended. The degree of Imaging Specialist.

Teacher Profile

The teachers of this program are professionals with fourth level degrees and a wide domain and experience in the area to be taught.

Study Modality

The postgraduate course of study is face-to-face and is dedicated exclusively to the Program.

Student profile upon graduation

At the end of their training, physicians specializing in Imaging should be able to:

  • Direction of the appropriate imaging method according to the clinical-surgical context of the patient in order to optimize resources and time.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies in all modalities proposed by the program, with a clear understanding of the clinical, anatomy, and pathology.
  • To know the indications and contraindications of diagnostic and interventional therapeutic imaging procedures.
  • To know the risks of these procedures practiced in the specialty and to have the capacity to solve the complications that may arise.
  • Conduct research and publish evidence-based scientific papers.
  • To train residents in training of Radiology Services in their specialty.
  • Promote and project their specialty with a clear concept of the ethical and moral principles of the profession.
  • Statification of patient pathology by means of scales and scores.
  • Appropriate use of various contrast media and radioprotection.
  • To know the GOLD STANDARD imaging method for the diagnosis of pathologies.

Requirements

Requirements to participate in the contest

  • El aspirante podrá postular a una sola especialidad clínica o quirúrgica.
  • El aspirante deberá cargar toda la documentación habilitante y de méritos
    escaneada en formato PDF.
  • Cargar los documentos originales.

En caso de que la información presentada esté incompleta, no corresponda a la solicitada, no sea veraz o se incurra en violación de propiedad intelectual, será motivo suficiente para que el tribunal rechace la postulación.

Documents that support the suitability of the applicants (in case of not uploading the complete documentation, the applicant will not be allowed to continue with the competition process).

  • Color copy of updated Identity Card.
  • Copy of identity card or passport (for foreigners).
  • 1 recent color photograph 
  • Copy of third level degree.
  • Be a professional in the field of specific health knowledge with a third level degree registered in the National System of Higher Education Information, SNIESE / SENESCYT and to the health authority ACESS, or whoever takes its place.
  • Have passed the professional qualification examination of the CACES, if applicable.
  • Certificate of proficiency level of at least A1 in a language other than the mother tongue.
  • Certificate of Rural Medicine.
  • Certificate of final grade (the university reserves the right to calculate the IMG).

Documents for merit qualification (30 points)

  • Certificados de cursos de formación médica avalados por una institución de educación superior, con una duración mínima de 40 horas y con evaluación. Adjuntar la imagen de la convocatoria al curso. Se puntuará con 0.5 cada uno, con un máximo de 2 puntos.
  • Publicaciones en revistas indexadas como autor principal o coautor (máximo 5 participantes) en MIAR, SCOPUS, SCIELO, MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS; o cartas de aceptación de publicaciones (adjuntar correos electrónicos que evidencien el proceso de evaluación por pares). Así como también libros o capítulos de libros. Se puntuará con 0.5 cada uno, con un máximo de 4 puntos.
  • Estudios de postgrado: doctorado (PhD. o equivalente), especialización y/o maestría, en el área de la salud registrada en el SNIESE/SENESCYT. Se reconocerá 2 puntos por PHD, 2 puntos por Especializaciones y 1 por Maestría.
  • Ayudantías de cátedra, tutores de práctica o teórica en las instituciones de educación superior, debidamente certificadas por la autoridad competente, obtenidas mediante concursos de méritos y oposición, durante su formación académica. Se puntuará con 0.5 cada período de ayudantía, máximo 1 punto.
  • Premios al mérito académico, otorgados por la institución de educación superior en la que culminó el tercer nivel. Se reconocerá 0.5 por cada uno, máximo de 1 punto.
  • Becas completas o medias becas académicas cumplidas otorgadas por instituciones de educación superior nacionales o extranjeras u otra entidad. (Certificado de cumplimiento de beca) Se puntuará con 1 puntos por cada beca, máximo 2 puntos.
  • Actividad asistencial clínico – quirúrgica debidamente documentada que incluya el historial laboral (Consolidado del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social u otros documentos habilitantes), en hospitales de tercer y segundo nivel. 1 punto por cada año calendario continuo de actividades, hasta un máximo de 2 puntos.
  • Certificación de acción afirmativa, según la norma técnica de la entidad regulatoria vigente, emitido por la entidad gubernamental correspondiente. Se puntuará con 0.25 puntos.
  • In addition to all the provisions of Resolution RPC-SE-08-No.023-2022, codified, which contains the Rules for the Conduct of Merit and Opposition Competitions to access the Medical Specialty Programs.

On the competitive examinations (70 points)

La prueba de oposición se realizará a través de la plataforma CTO, según el
calendario establecido, en modalidad presencial.

Requisitos de admisión para ganadores del concurso de méritos y oposición

  • Entregar los documentos requeridos por la Universidad y la UAD debidamente notariados.
  • Present certification of affiliation with the Social Security Institute.
  • To pay the registration fee and the first tuition fee before the beginning of the program.
  • Cumplir con las capacitaciones y evaluaciones estipuladas por la Universidad.

The assignment of the Base Hospital will be made according to the score obtained by the winners; that is, the applicant who obtains the highest score will decide in which hospital he/she wishes to perform his/her medical specialty, and so on with the other winners.
