Ecuador's National Assembly elected Mar\u00eda Alejandra Mu\u00f1oz as the country's new vice-president until May 2021, replacing Otto Sonnenholzner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After learning of her appointment, President Moreno, through his official Twitter account, congratulated her. Mu\u00f1oz was part of the shortlist proposed by President Moreno, which also included the Minister of Government, Mar\u00eda Paula Romo and the Secretary General of the Presidency, Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Rold\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Congratulations Mar\u00eda Alejandra!
