This award highlights research of high quality and international relevance, highlighting the significant impact of this study in the field of women's health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research was based on a multinational sample of 772 postmenopausal women from nine Latin American countries, and explored the relationship between sarcopenia - the progressive loss of muscle mass and strength associated with age - and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The results revealed that women at risk of sarcopenia, assessed with the SARC-F tool, were three times more likely to have MCI, even after accounting for other factors. This finding suggests that the SARC-F, originally designed to detect physical frailty, could be used as an accessible method for early identification of cognitive vulnerabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UEES, through the leadership of Chedraui and the collaboration with researchers from various Latin American countries, demonstrates its commitment to high-level scientific production.
