(Janire, 2017)<\/p>\n<p>This is the generation that makes use of the Internet and enjoys the most of what this medium has to offer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are your tastes for the way you live?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn this aspect, space designers face challenges and new needs, so they must be immersed in the experiences of the millennial generation, since these are different from those of their direct ancestors, such as sharing a house with friends.<\/p>\n<p>This generation is looking for efficient spaces in terms of use and energy, they are not interested in large houses because in their preferences they consider that they should be flexible, personalized spaces, with proximity to stores, restaurants and recreational spaces. These spaces should have modern aspects with quality and care of the landscape not only of green areas but with complete landscape design.<\/p>\n<p>Their tastes and requirements are based on functionality, with a preference for Coworking, friendly spaces, recreational areas, among others (Architects, 2021).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16035 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/uees.edu.ec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-22-at-13.16.50-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uees.edu.ec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-22-at-13.16.50-1.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/uees.edu.ec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-22-at-13.16.50-1-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/uees.edu.ec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-22-at-13.16.50-1-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/uees.edu.ec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-02-22-at-13.16.50-1-768x512.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to architects Cristina Dom\u00ednguez Lucas and Fernando Hern\u00e1ndez-Gil, millennials prioritize open spaces, less hierarchical and with a pragmatic approach, their millennial clients ask for multifunctional and flexible areas that have more than one use. \u201cThey are more interested in making the most of the available space rather than following a specific aesthetic guideline.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Another significant issue is the use of technologies, it is important for the millennial, as it involves them in the internet of things (IoT), as well as the common areas that are the meeting points where they make their meetings to interact.(Trejo, 2019)<\/p>\n<p>This generation is no longer the future, it is the present and it is the designers' commitment to take into account that the new spaces must fit into aspects of modern architecture that have existed since the first decades of the 20th century, embracing ideas with new technologies, adjusting to the tastes and needs of millennials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Architect Mar\u00eda Enriqueta Carvajal<\/strong><br \/>\nFaculty of Architecture and Design<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El significado t\u00e9cnico de millenials se basa en aquellas personas nacidas entre 1980-2000, conocidas con este nombre porque han crecido con el cambio de milenio, viviendo la prosperidad y la crisis, y representan el 75% de la fuerza laboral mundial aproximadamente.
